As explained in earlier posts, many rights can be negotiated or signed away.
Other rights can’t be given up, no matter what someone has you sign. Rights that can’t be signed away by employees include the following:
- The right to be classified as an employee
- The right to be paid at least minimum wage
- The right to be paid overtime
- The right to be paid for all hours you work
